Analysys: China Mobile has 152 million active users in the second quarter

July 24, ZHANG Yanan, an international analyst, recently released a report: in 2009 Q2, the size of China Mobile Internet users reached 152 million and the increase was 9.39 percent showing the growth rate of 183.44% compared to the same period of last year.

The report states that the three major 3G operators introduced the brand and related applications respectively at 5.17 the occasion of World Telecommunication Day, accelerating the construction of 3G networks at the same time. Analysys said: rich applications and speed promoting of networks will help to enhance the scale of mobile Internet users in China.

Active mobile Internet users of China Mobile in 2009 in the second season were 102.47 million, accounting 67.5% of the overall market users. While active users of China Unicom’s GSM network were 40.53 million, and the users of China Telecom CDMA network were 8.82 million, accounting 26.7% and 5.8% of the overall market users respectively.

Analysys International study found that mobile Internet users of China Unicom and China Telecom were little more than that in the first quarter of 2009. In particular, China Telecom launched WAP business formally and applications richly in May 17, 2009, which accelerated the increase of China Telecom mobile Internet users slightly to some extent.
