China Mobile and the State Council Informatization Office will jointly promote the establishment of a national mobile e-commerce demonstrative area in Chongqing，western of China. This area will be designed to make new breakthroughs in the high-tech sector and make information access more convenient, enhance city e-commerce’s basic capacity through financial electronics service platform and wireless system integration. This is a part of the memorandum of understanding signed between China Mobile and the Chongqing Municipality Government.
To drive the development of the local economy to promote the development of the smart terminal industry, information service industry and system integration industry, and also to create a national centralized platform to realize scaled growth of users is the China Mobile of Chongqing company’s mission.
One of China Mobile’s first mobile phone payment service was put into commercial use in western China’s Chongqing in June 2007.The first mobile e-commerce platform and the first mobile telephone automatic seller machine system of China were also put into operation in Chongqing in 2002.
