China Telecom and Huawei Launched China’s First Commercial 3G Services across 52 Cities
Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. (”Huawei”), a leading provider of next-generation telecommunications network solutions worldwide, joined with China Telecom to announce the commercial launch of new 3G CDMA networks in many of China’s largest cities and regions.
By using Huawei’s equipment, China Telecom’ s 3G CDMA services are now available for the first time in 52 cities, including 8 of the largest 10 cities in China, such as Beijing, Tianjin and the Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shandong and Shaanxi provinces. Huawei’ s innovative 3G CDMA network solutions made China Telecom be able to upgrade its CDMA2000 1X networks to 3G EV-DO with lower deployment costs and uninterrupted services.
Huawei was recently awarded the largest share of China Telecom’s 3G related contracts and also has the highest market share in China’s CDMA infrastructure and terminal market. Huawei is supporting all three operators in China deploy a new generation of innovative and customized mobile communications services in this fast-growing market.
