Kingsoft Cooperates with PICC to Launch Computer
Chinese software and online game provider Kingsoft and the People’s Insurance Company of China have jointly announced their plans to launch a computer insurance edition of Kingsoft Duba to provide better security to PC users.
PICC provides insurance covering desktops and notebooks. In addition to protections against natural disasters and accidents included in general property insurance, the insurance also provides indemnifications especially designed for PCs such as collisions, sudden power outages, accidental falls, impact of abnormal currents, and electrical short circuits. What is more, PICC will compensate for economic losses caused by theft and robbery of computers.
This new computer insurance edition of the anti-virus software Kingsoft Duba is an insurance product targeting personal computer users. People who use this product can gain monetary compensation when they suffer system crashes due to viruses and hacking activities.
According to Kingsoft, the computer insurance edition of Kingsoft Duba includes a Kingsoft Duba security package and a PC insurance with a compensation amount up to CNY5,000. For people who are already paid users of Kingsoft Duba, they can pay CNY8 every month to upgrade their products and gain the insurance; and for those who are not paid users of Kingsoft Duba, they can choose the computer insurance edition of Kingsoft Duba with a monthly cost of CNY18.
